     25 years of labor earning just enough to survive and often less. I've never taken a vacation. I have insignificant savings.

     I had a call with a member of the ownership class last night in which I begged to be employed at a rate of compensation that at minimum qualifies me for my apartment.

     My kid sees me desperate everyday and doesn't understand it yet. It's terrifying living this way knowing what impact this will have on her.

     Landlord emailed at 12 midnight asking about the balance of my rent.

     I started this fundraiser in September of 2021 and have used it to keep afloat during times of uncertainty.

     We have lived in a shelter before. The cycle of poverty is relentless.

     Email from the landlord asking for update on when they can expect payment.

     My microwave, hood fan and light have been shorted out for the past 6 months and I haven't submitted a repair ticket because I'm late/behind in rent. Is that silly?

     @BlackAzizAnansi Creeping closer to 3 months behind in rent. May is due, June is halfway over and July is a heart palpitation away.

     This fundraiser is from September of 2021 and I've been using it to fill in the gaps between work.

     Still looking for the next "job" opportunity that doesn't allow me to save a dime between rent and necessities.

     Woke up out of a dead sleep panicked after dreamt I was served with eviction papers. I then realized that my lease is up in 3 months.
     I'll be homeless, unemployed with a kid, a cat, and a turtle, and no place to go.

     Maybe if I can pay the remainder of my lease ahead of time, they might consider letting me renew my lease. Finding an apartment is so expensive and impossible in NYC and this has been home for 3 years. The longest home my 10 year old has ever known.

     Hope be back to work by the end of the month.

     Already almost July, have an interview on Monday. My landlord might not renew my lease if I don't handle this and they just got approved to increase the rent 3%.
