   @ChristiJunior I'm a staunch advocate for the way Japanese/eastern media executes voice acting because I believe that they direct them in way more attractive ways. Really over-the-top enunciations, genuinely shouting, etc., but they can go back down to regular conversation voices, too. But man... there's something special about Welsh cat Nia that separates it from the objectively good JP dubbing of Nia. That's one of the interesting things about voice acting, and makes it an art form.
   
   The issue is that I always feel like the west half-asses voice acting too often (not necessarily on purpose, but because something hasn't drawn out the full extent of their voices)... they tend to keep their conversation voice for their acting voice. Listen to EN dubbing "shouting" move names vs JP dubbing shouting their move names like their life depends on it.

     @Cayhr @Dude What I keep hearing is that Japanese VAs on average are just far more dedicated, professional and experienced, though obviously there's plenty of talent in the West too, even if it's often not fully realized.
     
     It was kinda shocking to see that washed up British Bayonetta bitch, and her almost complete lack of acting credits besides her defining role. I'm 99% sure whoever voices Japanese Bayonetta has tons of other roles under her belt.

     @ChristiJunior @Cayhr @Dude They’re so dedicated and utterly without self-consciousness, it results in stuff that’s truly amazing.

     The US doesn’t have the talent pool either, nobody really wants to go into it because it pays less than working at wendy’s full time, so our voice acting is in an eternal death spiral of low quality, low talent, low pay, low quality, low talent……

     @ChristiJunior @Cayhr @Dude japanese voices in general are built different, theres this channel on YouTube called the first take where singers go and do sing some of their famous songs in one go, without any special effects.
     It's always shocking how different they sound when they talk and when they sing and it's not only range or power, it's also some tricks they do, vibratos, falsettos and the way they pronounce and extend syllables it's amazing

     @SNEK @ChristiJunior @Cayhr @Dude I love how the Rie is such a fun sport about it. She voices a TON of characters too, like mash from FGO, Montpelier from azur, etc.
