   Understand that this is a lesson I myself have had to learn the hard way throughout my life. I’ve seen this recipe for misery play out too often IRL, so please listen to my warning and put it in the back pocket if you’re a young single feller who thinks he has it all figured out.

   Fertility is an iceberg to us men. Nobody really brings us into the know when people are trying for a baby, and the path is rocky enough that we need to assume that there’re likely a couple women in our extended families who are already spiraling because you aren’t supposed to talk about pregnancies early on, so they go through the pregnancy-seeking process all alone and largely unsupported.

     They’re almost totally alone in the cycle of miscarrying, being depressed, and then getting their hopes up anew when they get pregnant again. It’s a very rough cycle on women, and guys are nigh-universally awful about miscarriages, we’re wired different so we’re all too quick to shrug and say “eh, well maybe you’ll get ‘em next time, sport”

     That in itself is something we need to learn to navigate too, the ‘miscarriage cycle’ is terribly rough on a marriage, and can stretch it to the absolute breaking point. As a man, you need to develop a deft hand in managing your woman’s needs and feelings, she will NOT get over it as easily as you will, and leaving her behind as you move on from mini-mourning is…..sadly common IME.

     One of my first relationships was with a girl who had previously suffered a miscarriage at only 19. At the time I was young, naive and under the impression it was a risk. Overall made the mistake of dismissing those feelings and sought to basically keep her distracted with all of the other fireworks.
     
     Didn't last long though... she naturally gravitated for someone much older and mature.

     Isn't it funny, that it's the most important topics like this, that are kept absolutely hidden from most guys?

     I had heard it once, and it was obvious my colleague spilling her conscious was a few beers deeper in then she should have been.

     @LukeAlmighty @WashedOutGundamPilot A good way to be mindful about it is that, when you consider all the damage from microplastics and processed foods on ourselves and women, fertility can be a general concern. Which could be a useful tool with potentially friendly ears as well.

     Well, I have heard enough from the other side, whenever I mention, that biologically, we are programmed to have kids at 15.
