     That Mindchop channel was some shitty top 10 channel that were all over youtube at the time and you can hear narrators with different accents over the years so that channel was probably bought hence why he didn't get his play button.
     Linus wanted to buy the play button off him but he refrained of his own volition after talking to the kid. Why the fuck would he send over trolls to harass this kid when the kid was willing to sell it to him for the price he paid for it?
