     @WashedOutGundamPilot Someone linked a live performance and the entire YouTube recommended sidebar was reaction videos from boons. That's when I sorta started getting a little wary.

     @WashedOutGundamPilot I will say the statement in the attached image isn't very accurate about it being a slickly produced video, therefore big business. radiowv does a lot of promotion videos for small, unknown artists and they are almost all guitar in the woods.

     @gozfarb I’m not totally against it, which is why I didn’t go out of my way to shit on it.

     But I AM calling attention to the fact it was shilled in places that these people think we frequent, because the guys here really need to develop a sense for inauthenticity. The guy seems legitimate enough, it’s the PR machine backing him that I take issue with.

     Shoving this guy’s video in my face 25 times a day and then writing articles about how he’s genuinely, organically viral is gay.

     Yeah lots of people saw it as an appeasement attempt as was predicted and reposted weekly (one of many half hearted this last year).

     @WashedOutGundamPilot I didn't realize this song was so viral on a massive level, I just saw hoss post it on fedi a week ago and reposted it. It's some of the most hard hitting, honest lyrics I've heard in a country song since maybe Townes van zandt. Why do you say it's astroturfed? Sure it's not that revolutionary for a country song to be about high taxes and stagnant wages, and sure he doesn't name the jew and heil hitler, but it's still a fucking banger.

     @Ripsnort The guy seems cool enough, he probably won’t stay in the public eye for long, heard he has likes that include the dancing israelis on his old YT. They might try to give him an album deal, set up a cottage industry of benignly conservative music, which would be cool (though bland)

     @WashedOutGundamPilot If he really is getting inorganically pushed into the media spotlight I'm convinced it's without his knowledge, he legit lives off the grid and seems very down to earth. At least that's the vibe I got from his Spotify bio. I just hope he's able to maintain his roots if he does manage to hit super stardom
