     @synapsid This is actually one of the cheaper ones. The one that bugged me was some “INFINITE CHICKEN FEED GLITCH” where you set up this complex composting system and raise hundreds of thousands of japanese beetles on your property

     Can’t find it now…it’s cool, but good heavens all this stuff is just another project for me that I’ll probably have to take care of every time I come back home because “it’s too heavy/tall for me to reach hon please?”

     It’s like asking me to make WMD’s in the backyard…..how about we plant some potatoes first and THEN we can start from there

     @gozfarb @Heil_Honkler @synapsid I need to find the vid, because it WAS pretty cool. I just don’t like the jurrassic park vibe of setting up all this stuff that WILL end up breaking (because it’s not UV protected, it will crack after a couple years outside) and letting millions of pest bugs infest our land

     Yeah, and it'll be over for sure if you let them out. Field behind my house growing up had them and we put out the bags to catch them. I'd replace them constantly and it just never stopped filling up. Though now they say those traps just call beetles from all over, so I guess that makes sense.

     @37712 It’s not a bad idea, it’s just another example of how she’s always jumping at a chance to spend money to add more chores around here without considering whether the solution fits our lifestyle. We don’t have the egg output to fill up a bunch of these, we eat through them too quick, and our hens lay all year anyways. We could glass them in jars, but that wouldn’t be NEW and CUTE and make her feel like a homesteader, so it’s a non-solution for her

     I dont see what the problem is, this is saving their fam a lot of mony in the long run, even if the buckets are expensive, which I doubt they are buckets, you only have to buy them once, they will last you a life time.
