   On a scale of 1-10, how dumb of an idea would it be to go spend a full summer in Eastern Europe looking for a wife? I honestly think it'd be a terrible idea, but I'm curious about other's input.

     @PvtProperty @Shadowbroker2135 i think the issue is in 'seems', as it relies on flawed perception. there are still good marriages happening of 2 partners who are flawed but committed to helping each other overcome their flaws or at least compensate for them
     
     whereas if you travel to shop around or mail order a bride you are treating a future wife as a commodity and should not be surprised when she reciprocates and takes you for all you are worth

     @Shadowbroker2135 I'm just trying to get a sense for whether or not its actually dumber to marry a mail order bride or a Westerner. Seems like the failure rates for both are about equal to each other

     @PvtProperty Might be worth it just to see her immense disappointment that everything she's heard about the US is wrong and that my living situation is worse than most Eastern European houses.

     @Shadowbroker2135 I know someone who married a Russian girl as a missionary and they're doing great. Thats probably the exception to the rule though.

     @PvtProperty @Paultron @Shadowbroker2135 infamous Linux developer (autist) whose mail order bride dumped him and so he killed her and wound up being on the true crime "crazy man kills battered wife" shows old ladies watch for a while.
     
     He's only remembered because he wrote a Linux filesystem which he named after himself.

They later achieved it by other means when that plan went through. I've read it on /g/ board of infamous hacker 4chan, he never lies.
