     You can try to stop people from having political opinions, GLWT.
     
     I would say that the way science is structured doesn't really work because what passes for "papers" devolves into poorly disguised opinion pieces.

     People have political biases and are happy when science confirms them and upset when it doesn't. Hence the mixed levels of confidence throughout the 20th century.
     
     Seeing people of one political persuasion become extremely pro-science is not the win he thinks it is.
