     @kuon @Agartha_Noble There’s a diff. between the economic “low class” and moral “low-class”.

     Growing up there were many things that I could not do in my family because it was “low class”, even somewhat mild things like watch the simpsons (promotes insubordination and disrespect, crass language from children - low class) or frequently eat at friends houses (also low class b/c it’s not good to frequently impose as a guest lest you become a mooch)

     @RupertvonRipp @kuon @Agartha_Noble That’s why my parents were so strict. We were poor for a while, they were very, very worried that I would pick up the habits of the kids I was friends with. By the time we were in 4th grade, one kid was already in trouble for stealing so many bikes that they were trying to pin him into juvie somehow.

     Strict discipline and vetting of my frequent friends kept the worst of it away, in any case.
