   The IPCC said the Gulf Stream System wouldn't collapse this century. New analysis suggests it could occur as early as 2025, if not in the coming decades, on our current trajectory. Shutdown of the Atlantic circulation system (Amoc) is one of the primary planetary boundaries which scientists agree we must never cross "At all costs".

     @thatguyoverthere @SlicerDicer @JulianOliver I understand there’s irregularities, also it’s not co2 put out by that volcano it’s sulfur dioxide. It’s also not the only location we read it. If there was a uptick in co2 it wouldn’t be that kind of response.

     @thatguyoverthere @JulianOliver I should stress that when I speak of solving these problems. I speak of solving them by not changing lifestyle. To sequester carbon so we can just keep doing what we do. There’s no reason to change the lifestyle or cut carbon. We can just store it and no problem.
     
     Anything else you hear? Is barbaric and would cause mass fatalities from resources being underutilized in the modern world.

     @SlicerDicer @JulianOliver I am not convinced of the proposed effects of carbon on the environment, but I do think that we need to treat the planet better generally. I think a lot of that is really decentralization more than changing the ways we generate electricity. I agree that sequestration is a good thing even if carbon isn't as bad as we are told to believe, and that's part of why I find things like biodigesters fascincating. I think learning ways to farm and produce energy without as many outside inputs would be beneficial to the environment while also distributing the power over these critical resources.

     Sometimes I think that's the point. "Be the carbon you wish to reduce". I know it's cynical but it's not as if there aren't people in power who have eluded to such measures.
