Why is it being treated as a bigger deal that it's taking a couple of days to decide on a Speaker of the House than it was when Election Day turned into Election Month?
-
@ArdainianRight i wonder what other topics they are not talking about while wasting time with the speaker topic, thats the question we should be asking. To me it looks like a good ol smokescreen

@Kagekokoro Nothing immediately comes to mind. I think a non-trivial aspect of the hysteria is trying to browbeat the MAGA types into supporting Romney-tier obvious controlled opposition. But distracting from something else is plausible. Or there's actually nothing really happening and they need to fill the 24-hour news cycle. I don't think things are as organized or advanced as some people think.
-
@ArdainianRight Because people like Kevin McCarthy are the most difficult-to-replace, and the most vital, part of the regime's hold on power.
It is easy to find a thousand thousand new woke interns for whichever project, but someone who can publicly pretend to be on the side of his enemies for years on end, organize efforts to sabotage real opposition, and convince good people like Trump that they're his allies while feeding him lines that aim to alienate him from his supporters is very hard to come by, especially considering that nobody with that kind of pedigree and organizational skill will ever want for money either way.
Essentially, to get a Graham/McCarthy/McConnell, you have to luck into a very skilled person of the right social class who wants to be paid in pizza and hotdogs, and will work for you for that reason alone. Losing one such person is a severe blow, especially considering that the next generation of high-visibility RINOs seems to be histrionic idiots like Crenshaw and Kinzinger who are in it for the """prestige""", and thus prone to embarrassing public meltdowns when mocked.

@AmericanChampion Liz Cheney is similarly retarded.
