"Remember, kids, just buy a house that fits well in your budget. You'll make it work. Also, the value of my house doubled in nine years! Isn't that an anomaly?!?"
So... the value of your house doubled in nine years, but what happened to our spending power, the value of the dollar? Just... "make it work?" Alright.
Boomers, man.

the thing with boomer math is it's literally about "muh investment" and nothing else.
It's why "corvette boomers" exist, and cars those types would buy to garage. The problem is they were mass produced to some degree and so many still exist used. I'm talking about the Chevy SSR, Plymouth Prowler, 02-05 Thunderbird, etc. where a lot of low mileage ones exist for sale on Cargurus/Craigslist because only boomers were buying them, garaging them half the time, and then dying or cashing out. It's also why there are a bunch of say BMW convertibles of the desirable gens instead of the coupes because boomers were owning them and not ricers.

To add to that, those cars were also engineered for the ideal boomer/previous generation fantasy: of hot rods, motorcycles, eternal youth, and living big (while denying their kids a future).
They weren't fast. They didn't have to be. They were solely to make the boomer feel as if he was living his youth again.
