That's probably the biggest problem. You can usually recover data from the common hardware models by emulating it in software, but it's still a pain. Just either do zfs or mergerfs+snapraid, depending on what you're trying to accomplish (I'd assume you want uptime+ssd caching, so zfs would be the ticket). For data backups nothing beats a drive not connected to your main system that you do periodic backups to.- Woggy's Zeonic Frolicks likes this.
