Others may "grow out of" their rebellious phase like SLC punk but I think most who start their lives with a rebellious spirit keep it even if they conform outwardly -

We have many sub cultures and each has a particular style, but most people wear some kind of costume for work.
When it comes to attire I think you could safely categorize people into 2 camps. Those who dress for others and those who dress for themselves or their current needs. If you dress in clothing that conforms to a particular style you are dressing for others. If you wear clothing appropriate for doing a particular task (not because it's a uniform) you are dressing for you.
That said I do not think attire aligns with any specific political ideologies. -
Thorwegian ❄️ (thor@berserker.town)'s status on Sunday, 16-Jul-2023 20:12:56 JST Thorwegian ❄️ @thatguyoverthere @SuperDicq there are different degrees of it. you see some people in their 30s and 40s who still dress "alternatively" but these are often people who work in businesses where that's acceptable. but there is also the intellectual kind, which you can't see. i don't belong to a particular subculture and only dress "normal" because of that.
