     I'm getting off an airplane to go drive, pick up aircraft parts, spend the night, wake up early and get breakfast with the girlfriend, and then deliver said aircraft parts

     Nah, its aircraft spruce stuff but it's being delivered to family property and my dad's flying his new plane in to an airport about 90 minutes from said property so an A&P can do the changes he wants so it can land on our grass strip

     @d0c40r0 @Jean_Philippe_Micheaux Hopefully you realize how much of a leg up it is having your own plane to time build with. Just talked to a guy paying $180/hr to fly a damn chicken around….and that’s block rate.

     Everyone I know who had their own AC got to at least a regional in 3 years, come to think of it

     @d0c40r0 @Jean_Philippe_Micheaux Well, voice of experience: fly the hell out of it until he realizes how much it ends up costing. If he’s flying it a lot then you’ll be fine, but lots of guys tend to have the fun wear off once the plane is done. The flying is a pain sometimes, you have to go and plan, then come back….

     I’ve found that a lot of the guys who can afford the plane only want it like a toy, or a project. They love the purchase, the shopping, the grind of looking forward to building it, to the point they spend hours every week planning out their roster of unnecessary mods…..then once it’s done their interest wanes. Once the last vortex generator is mounted, the final type C charger wired into the panel installed, the thrill begins to wear off. Before you know it, they get the renewal notice and hear the wife tell them “you’ve hardly flown that thing at all this year! Why not sell it if it’s just costing you $3,500 a month!”

     Then they call someone like me to help them offload it, and I con them into buying a bigger, better plane. The process starts anew, them thinking that expanded capability will keep their passions stoked, that a 6-seater would be “big enough to ACTUALLY use!!!” and before you know it they’ve got a $450,000 bushliner on order

     yeah it's going to be damn nice
     
     still doing real flight school as well plus uni so sinking way too much money into all that but having a plane I've got access to will certainly help a lot
