     I only looked this up because someone mentioned a “churchill martini” the other day, and I only just realized that it’s nothing but Gin. You’re supposed to ignore the vermouth

     Turns out there’re martinis where you just wet the vermouth bottle’s cork and rub it around the glass full o’ gin, and that’s something. The more you learn about it, the more apparent that it really is like astrology for men.

     @haberdasher Looking at the lists of cheesy cocktails, it’s really all of them. Everybody just made some random thing that tasted good to them, then they ended up making it all the time. The Jackie-O ‘invented’ a rum daquiri that JFK liked, pinned it up in the kitchen for good.
