   Something I find amusing is the idea that both climate alarmists and conspiracy theorists believe a food shortage is inevitable, but they disagree on the root cause. Nothing will change, and many people will probably starve. It's not the starving people I find amusing but the fact that alternative sets of facts lead to the same conclusion and everyone is so worked up about how you came to your conclusion rather than finding a solution everyone can agree on.

     IMO that's the biggest problem with political discourse, particularly in non-mainstream and dissident circles. It's why self sufficiency is a pragmatic solution and probably why a lot of people are resistant to solidarity based movements.
