   what social media is teaching me:

   when i post something i don't really want any validation for, such as a joke, it's popular.

   when i post something where i really wish people would reassure me it's fine, there is silence.

   so, as far as things i deeply care about - things that get close to the core - there is little support and encouragement to find there.

   whereas if it's superficial - an easy laugh - there's plenty of encouragement to find there.

   i don't like it.
