COVID changed my life immeasurably. Thankfully, not due to #LongCOVID or other health concerns.Attending live music performances was the highlight of my life since I was 13 years old. In my 20s I lived in grunge-era Seattle and went to 4 shows a week.
My vacations were often planned around live shows in other cities.
When COVID hit, that abruptly ended. I have only been to about 1 show per year in the last three years, and wearing a mask in a sweaty, packed venue wasn't all that comfortable. But I did it.
Many of my friends have resumed that lifestyle and do not bother to mask. I don't want to risk it.
While many are suffering long-term health effects of COVID, others of us are dealing with lesser, but still devastating life changes.
I still subscribe to emails promoting the live shows in my area. I'm not sure why. Keep hope alive?
