I KNOW MMO DEVS ARE GLUE EATING RETARDS OF COURSE BUT DID NOT A SOUL EVER THINK OF GIVING PEOPLE "GROUP/FRIENDSHIP XP" WHERE THE MORE YOU DO SHIT TOGETHER THE STRONGER YOU BOTH GET WHEN YOURE TOGETHER???
THIS SEEMS LIKE SUCH A RETARD LEVEL OBVIOUS MECHANIC TO ENCOURAGE SOCIAL ASPECTS
- Woggy's Zeonic Frolicks likes this.

@nugger most developers would disagree, they want you to be forced into interacting with a bunch of idiots instead of finding a small group and just playing with them forever
-
@nugger they would probably say that encourages cliquishness
-
@deprecated_ii BUT THATS GOOOOOD
ITS WHAT YOU WANT
THE ONLY FUCKIN DRAW OF EVE ONLINE WAS AUTISTIC BYZANTINE INTRIGUE ON A GALACTIC SCALE
-
@deprecated_ii @nugger this mindset died off in the past few years too hence halo getting rid of partying up and other social aspects online in favor of soulless matchmaking grinding
-
@nugger I'm sure you wanted to point out this conclusion but in execution mmos like "social" media are a parasocial experience where your relationship is directed not towards your friends on the game but to the game itself. The "community" exists to draw you into the game, not the other way around. This is also why, much like "social" media, guilds are hotbeds of unending drama and friends of years are thrown away daily over trivial shit. The primary relationship is with the medium itself, not the voices you hear through it.
Sad!
