     At the very least it might mean more traffic for YT alternatives but youtube is one of those "too big to fail" sites like Reddit so will believe it when I see it

     The cool and novel things I would buy are niche and often low margin to the point where they'd never be able to afford buying ads that might hit me

     @coolboymew @vantablack @kroner I always assumed that adblock was mostly left alone because advertisers knew that they'd never get a return on investment. Guess the youtube angle is "stop undermining one of our few options for subscription perks".

     Yeah it could be the case that people just keep getting ads for the same things, like the classic "Amazon noticed you just bought a fridge, here are some other fridges you might be interested in!"
     It's interesting seeing what ads other people get (apart from the fact that they get ads at all), there's definitely some pretty clear bucketing.
