That's illegal in this state; might be illegal in yours. Like, they can have cameras in common areas, but if it's pointed at you to watch you, that's another thing entirely.

Looks like it is wifi, per https://www2.yitechnology.com/yi-home-camera-specs . You should be able to find it, figure out what wifi network it's on, put some spare CPU cycles towards WPA-cracking. Give it a week, learn about network exploration in the mean time. (Spoof the MAC.)

Cheap cameras tend to be sensitive to IR, which is not visible to humans. If, in your travels, you find enough stuff to put together a small IR floodlight, you could unobtrusively blind the thing when going in or out. IR strobe light might produce fun results, too. It advertises motion-sensitivity, so just strobing IR should give it enough false-alarms to make it useless...or make the guy think it's defective and install a newer, fancier one that works better. (It's hard to tell how well this works unless you get one yourself and test it out.)

  Doesn't even need to be sending shit back to China. Back in the day there were "IP Cam Trolling" videos where people would search on SHODAN for IP cams (which would let you talk to the people in case you say had a thief in your place) and everyone would just micspam shit or fuck with the people living there.
  
  There was a video of a old 4chan thread in which someone went to a classroom which had one of these cams set up and started playing the "racist ducktales song" loud to a classroom. I can't find the one that had the ending to it because YT kept jannying these videos but there was one upload of that same incident that ended where the boomer maintenance guy was removing the racist cam as it was shit talking him.

  tl;dr don't buy chink IP cams unless you secure the fuck out of them. They will show up on SHODAN and while IP camera trolling has died out like a lot of fads, remember that if a 15 year old skid can get into your cam to micspam you IRL, so can anyone else.

  You can search up IP cam trolling on YT and it happens a lot less/it's lower profile these days, but it was truly a rabbit hole of crazy shit.
  
  Case in point, Dwight (who's in the Phone Losers crew) did a few of these a few years back before it seemed too "hot" for YT (before the infamous Safeway prank call the PLA did) and they were some truly premium shit. Someone mirrored them to fucking >dropbox, I should mirror them to IA when I'm at home and not on phone data.

  This isn't a "cheap" thing so much as a "we need to see things in the dark" thing.
  
  If the camera produces color images, then I wouldn't bother with the IR lights (There'll be enough green/blue to pick you out). Otherwise, I agree with this.
