@SoyMagnus@p@PurpCat Unless it's some huge brand like Huawei or Xiaomi, chinks won't bother with making the firmware exploit-free; web panels of online cameras are as pozzed as admin panels of home routers with stock firmware. And that's not even when talking about thousands of people leaving default or other easily crackable passwords. Cracking Hikvision cameras and watching their owners was a favorite pastime on sosach (Russian 4chan).
@SoyMagnus@p@PurpCat@mint Not tagged in, but as someone who has dealt with this type of product I guarantee you that it is easy to break into due to a cost-cutting measure that will sound retarded to the three people who were asked the question.
@ceo_of_monoeye_dating@PurpCat@mint@p ah I never know. I've had my experience with some of that cheap garbage can be useful and some of it is just data harvesting products to send information back to China. It says it deals with cloud recording and that makes a possible difficulty if its housed in China or programmed in a lesser used language at least theoretically. I ask cause my land lord installed one outside my door to spy on and record me lol
It definitely was on 4chan here for a while, at least before the No Fun Allowed jannies defanged them.
Slightly unrelated, I know in another thread that me and others were talking about shitty Discord trolling groups that took shit way too far (after the poast/baest hackers were outed as being from the same shitty group who was swatting an elected official and dozens of ecelebs) and I'm sure that 4chan jannies cracking down hard on raids and whatnot pushed it all underground.
