   Alright, started Tears of the Kingdom
   
   The English voice for Zelda is such garbage. You get a nice girl voice in Japanese that's relative matched in French (Both French and French Canadian are the same VA?), both Spanish, German, Italian and even Russian
   
   But nope, the English one has the worst voice and acting of them all.... I'll just play in French

     Otherwise the english subs are WILDLY fucking different from the French script (Thanks NoA, probably!) so I might just go with Japanese

     Switched it to Jap literally as soon as I got control of Link in the intro. I hacked BOTW to do that as well before they released the language patch.

     @coolboymew Practically all English voice actors suck because voice acting is the lowest status job in the American entertainment industry. Also, a lot of them hate games and gamers and do a shitty job on purpose as a sort of "fuck you" to the fans.

     @caekislove @coolboymew When Zelda makes her debut in the inevitable film adaptation, expect her to sound even worse. Voice acting really boils down to just a performing act using only your vocal chords, and sadly, it's easier said than done. Choosing big name actors for their popularity alone doesn't help, either.

     @caekislove @coolboymew That could apply to older Pixar films, or really older Disney animated movies (and maybe Dreamworks) since there were different standards back then. If there were big name actors chosen back then, it's likely for their specific voice over their prior acting fame. The pool for finding the right actors for animated films aren't as shallow compared to anime and video game dubbing (especially when you consider actors from Europe or Asia). If it sounds memorable like Xenoblade Chronicles, that's an exception.
