     The other half of the problem with javascript is javascript.
     
     I'll just point you to that recent exploit that was conducted via nostr. That was a problem that only affected people who ran javascript on a web frontend for fedi.

     @ikezawa There were other conditions on that exploit, eg. it didn't work on instances that didn't have media proxy enabled (unless the attacker had an account on the instance and uploaded the file in a post? I'm not sure about that).
     Each of those conditions represents work that a webmaster has to go out of their way to do, because literally everything about the web is "the most insane retarded defaults you could ever think of".
