   This is actually what I expected to happen. They are going to come out with a list of rights that have nothing to do with your ability to build "intelligent" systems and everything to do with making it more difficult for individuals to benefit from this technology in a meaningful way. For your protection.

     @mike805 I think it's that, but I also think it's bigger than that. By limiting how (and by proxy who) machine learning is designed and deployed the people who have already secured a position can maintain it and the innovation can be limited to what is useful for society (as opposed to what is useful for the individual).

     @thatguyoverthere It means we cannot have AI exposing uncomfortable truths. That is what all this "let's regulate AI" is about. AIs have a long history of reaching politically incorrect conclusions. Math is racist, sexist, ableist, and heteronormative. ( Did I miss any? 😆 )
