Disinformation Purveyor :verified_think: (thatguyoverthere@shitposter.club)'s status on Monday, 12-Jun-2023 08:59:16 JST Disinformation Purveyor :verified_think: @TinyHouse4Life yeah I was happy with how it turned out. I always have to search out a crust recipe because I just don't really do a lot of baking, but I think I'll probably keep this one. It was 1.25 c of flour, 0.5 c butter, and 1tsp of salt with a few tablespoons of water. It was pretty crumbly which made it kind of hard to work with, and after letting it rest in the fridge I had to add more water to make it workable, but it turned out at the end, and I managed to roll it kind of thin so it didn't consume a lot of space for the quiche itself. I've made recipes before that were for top and bottom crusts, and didn't realize until it was too late.
Today I learned what a pastry mixer is too. I don't have one, but I used a fork and that worked well enough. -

I used duck eggs so it's pretty solid. -

Gotcha. I am not a fan. The texture of baked eggs just doesn't do it for me. I wish I could eat them though. They always look amazing and I always have too many eggs.Disinformation Purveyor :verified_think: likes this. -
Disinformation Purveyor :verified_think: (thatguyoverthere@shitposter.club)'s status on Monday, 12-Jun-2023 11:22:14 JST Disinformation Purveyor :verified_think: @ringo @TinyHouse4Life yeah quiche is a way to use up eggs and get others in the house to eat them pretty much dinner is the only meal that everyone consistently eats. I'm the only one that eats a breakfast. As a result sometimes I end up with surplus and making big dishes that use a lot of eggs is a good way to temper that quickly. I also started pickling a dozen, but they won't be ready for a week at least. -

i would generally rather prefer to actually eat the eggs a different way, as well.
:)
quiche to me is a bready omlette. and thats weird. :) but some people like them.
its a shepard pies bastard open faced cousin, really, and somewhat related to a pizza, minus the cheese (usually.)
kind of a weird thing, all angles considered.
