@coolboymew It's trite crap, but for some reason I really, really like the custom runs for Ring Fit Adventure. I'll start playing it in the morning, look at my phone, and find out 2 hours have passed.
@SpaceElf@coolboymew Hmm, I want it for maintenance. Tired of having stuff break down, want to be able to preempt it when it hits a milage marker. I have my fitness tracking crap to get an idea of calories
@SpaceElf@coolboymew Just wondering if everyone settled on some system by now. Everyone I ask does the silly watt measuring cranks instead, that’s too optimized for me. I don’t need to worry about my pedal efficiency, just wanna know when to service my freehub before it breaks
@WashedOutGundamPilot@coolboymew I think pretty much any will work for you, mate. I don't really do online shopping so I recommend you find out what others in your area are using. You can find out by just calling cycling stores and asking which they have most faith in or people seem to like.
@SpaceElf@coolboymew what I want is for cheating to be a common and acceptable thing, both in single-player games and in multi-player games where it's tracked. Have an API for cheating, have preset cheats, and make every game like this.
What do you get from that? 1. Fitbit turning your steps into energy that you can use for cheats in games. 2. An ability to pause right before death, run over to an exercise machine, and regain your health through effort. 3. Language study, anki apps, all that stuff working as well. 4. Games being able to be outrageously hard by default, like in the coin-op arcade era, because this encourages people to improve themselves while playing with minor cheats paid for with effort.
@coolboymew I eat a lot of honey, dairy and red meat, so my body fat percentage is pretty reasonable, but my body is very well developed, yes. I have a very stern "The body is a testament to faith" outlook.
@WashedOutGundamPilot@SpaceElf@coolboymew I've always just used whatever generic one had the basic features I needed, though it's convenient to have one with easy to press buttons, particularly if you're wearing gloves.
@apropos@coolboymew The number one thing I want from VR, and why I let myself buy a headset is that I was hoping someone would develop a really solid fitness game for it. I'm still waiting, but I hope one day I get to link it ot a treadmill and go absolutely sicko mode trying to go faster than a speeding bullet in some kind of foot race game where you play as a meteor, a light beam or something.
@WashedOutGundamPilot@coolboymew I wouldn't know mate, I'm sorry. I don't really do the Cycling community thing. I'm here for the environmental and cardio benefits, not to talk bikes with guys who spent 8k on their "Racing rig" they'll use all of twice for its' purpose, haha.
Wish you luck in finding something, but I feel even something like Google maps works out just fine.
I'm a fucking space-mutant and use a melways though.
And the Gold/Silver remake with the new version of the thing that came with it
Otherwise let's go Pikachu/Eevee had a pokeball that also works with pokemon go IIRC, you can put a pokemon in and it does.... something? I don't remember
@coolboymew@ForbiddenDreamer@SpaceElf@WashedOutGundamPilot No it 100% was a real life step counter. I can't remember the details, but I know there was some game I played around that time where somehow your steps translated to something in game.
I vividly remember just fucking cranking on this fucking step counter thing to get some mile mark in game. I just don't remember the details. I could swear it was one of those weird gameboy games with like the special cartridges, but my memory is just not there.
@coolboymew I'm searching it now, and I think I was thinking of what you first said. I think it was the Pikachu GS thing, and the reason I thought it was in the game itself was because of how you could transfer your steps.
