     @GinNig Everyone who speaks it tends to laugh that it’s worthless IRL unless you’re in medicine or something where they’re forced to speak with you.

     I guess haggling w/ vendors and stuff is cool, it’s just not this amazing life skill. Though you do get to catch people pretending not to speak english with it, which is weird.

     @WashedOutGundamPilot I recognize it's not necessary, but at this point it's both a personal matter of my pride and I want to use another language. I may as well learn the only thing ever spoken around here that aint this disgusting tv-english

     @GinNig It’s fun, I like watching animes in it, and novelas for a while at least had hot women. Just don’t think you’ll have many moments in your life where you’re happy to have learned it unless you have mexican neighbors. THEN it’s useful, because you become a ‘friendly’ to them and get in with that support network on the fringe. Even then, none of the younger people speak it much, it’s just the parents.

     @KarlDahl @GinNig learned from argentines so it took a bit to ‘correct’ those habits. Still can’t do that nasally ratspeak thing that one type of spaniards have. You know, the bald guys, dressy but never have a necktie, always wear sunglasses

     @WashedOutGundamPilot @KarlDahl It was actually an argentine woman (naturally) who got me to want to learn spanish. That'd have been an interesting life change had it worked out
