     Meanwhile, the state is making me provide my social security card, my wife's social security card, cards for each of my children, birth certificates for each, and proof that my children resided in my house all year because I claimed them as dependents. This is not a joke. I got the letter last Friday in response to filing my tax return. The letter states that if I do not provide it, they will refuse to file my return.

     I have the urge to say some choice words, but I also don't want to deal with an audit, not because I'm hiding anything, but just because of the time it would eat up. Ironically, they'd probably end up owing me more money if I were audited. 🙄
