   the one thing I will say for communism is that it proved that humanity could competently do things like space exploration without the profit motive. however it likely relied on its need to prove itself against capitalism so who knows if that would have stuck if it "won"

     @coin there is a thing people say that the USA bankrupted the USSR via Star Wars program but until I learn more about it I'm thinking it might just be American propaganda to improve Reagan's image.
