   Pea progress:

   • 6-9 o’clock: sown indoors on 1 March, planted out 15 April. Quite a lot of yellowing, probably due to cold weather, very little growth.
   • 9-12 o’clock: sown indoors on 25 March, planted out on 15 April. Much less yellowing but still very little growth.
   • 12-3 o’clock: direct sown on 15 April. Poor germination, growth is healthy but slow.
   • 3-6 o’clock: direct sown on 13 May. Thus far, if you zoom in, rocketing away.

   Think I probably won’t bother with early indoor sowings next year, maybe do a mid-April one in the greenhouse, but we’ll see how they do as the season progresses.

     @Flick I think if you want more growth on the indoor stuff you might need artificial light. You guys are pretty far north so even if you keep the temperature nice they probably need a few more hours of direct sunlight

     I have no idea what this is, in the mostly-ornamental bed. I did scatter some seeds on that bed, but these shoots are only in that spot. It looks more like a perennial coming up, but if it is then I forgot to mark it on my diagram….

     And the traditional (left) vs multi-sown (right) peas (for shoots, 17th April) and beetroot.

     Multi-sown peas are definitely doing better (I won’t be buying salad leaves this week), beetroot still a bit too early to call.

     @koropokkur @EvilSandmich @Flick one time there was a warrant out for one of my neighbor's kids, but the cops are so incompetent that they can't tell the difference between a 3 and a 4 so they surrounded my house in what I can only assume was preparation to breech. I saw a black SUV outside and brought by gun to the front door before I realized it was the cops. It had even crossed my mind they might not be cops, but there were at least 5 on my porch and they looked real enough, so I decided to confront them unarmed (thankfully). They realized their error but I don't even think I got a basic apology for nearly creating a real ruckus on my property.

     Iirc, you can get daylight spectrum lights these days that are nearly as good.

     @Flick @thatguyoverthere @EvilSandmich Thanks for the garden pics! No vegetable garden this year as there is a lot of painting to do. Our weather pattern has changed dramatically; we get serious frosts much later than we used to. For the past two years, the asparagus has gotten frosted, something that never happened in the past. And my wee stained-glass hostas got socked by the cold but are sending up new shoots. So good to see your peas and the walking onion; I'd really like to try the onions.
