@coolboymew@r000t yeah 6600 XT are 8GB GPU typically. I know a lot of people are anal about vram I use 8GB on a 3070 and it's fine. Just can't use super ultra uber leet textures but most AAA games aren't well optimized anyways anymore.
@r000t@coolboymew my next card will have more than 8GB of vram but for now it's still usable for the next 2-3 years for what I want to play. The only game I have any real hype for coming out is Stalker 2 but I'm expecting it to be jank at launch like most eastern europe games.
@coolboymew@ooignignoktoo I'm currently using my trusty 1080 (8GB) from 2016. If I had to replace it, I'd go for maximum VRAM, and my currently sweet-spot is a 3090 Ti, which on eBay you can get from any number of people for ~$700.
@coolboymew@r000t Call of Pripyat was a fun game though. Shadow of Chernobyl was good with mods that had quality of life fixes. Vanilla Shadow of Chernobyl didn't age very well but it was a really ambitious game when it came out in 2007
