     @TornadoOfTerror This is why I was so irritated by that titan show. AOT is basically making a case for TND and they chicken out at the end and say “don’t worry though, surely a multiracial coalition of friends fighting for survival will get everyone to forgive and forget afterward!!!

     They enslaved Eldians for over a century and would kill themselves if they found out they race mixed. Eren was right, stomp them into the dirt and start a new.

     I kinda suspect that the author was leaned on to globohomify the ending though. Even normies here were talking about how ‘pro fascist” the series was, I’d still bet there are some phone calls that went around hoping they could force him to end it on a “actually the real solution is diversity!!!!” note

     @WashedOutGundamPilot @TornadoOfTerror It doesn't feel like the narrative, nor anyone within the universe, really believe in the peaceful solution, and the ending implies it's going to be undone. I think it was stuck between trying to tell a compelling, moral ambiguous story and trying to have some greater moral implication, when they couldn't decide what they actually wished to impart with it.
     
     It kind of reminds me of Blue Submarine No. 6 (the thing Disney's Atlantis ripped off), except they play it completely straight. But living in cold peace with the species that just nearly genocided you because muh cycle of revenge, and empathizing with the motives of the antagonist who wants to kill humanity for his mulatto children is kind of a no sell to anyone who doesn't also want to fuck this fish.
