I went hard for like 8 years adding people and literally had over 1000 connections but the only thing you can really do to talk to people is act like you are in a "ted talk" and always putting up the corporate style persona is so exhausting.
I tried that life for a few years and just don't like it.

believe it or not i've worked in offices.. at startups.. with the rich and famous... its relentless and stupid.. all of it.

Congratulations, you are officially not a sociopath.
-
Same, I've played that game and just don't enjoy it. I can but it's so hollow.
It's like the personal development industry - mostly just fluff and appearances
-
I worked at one startup and it completely and totally burned me out of working in the field I spent years getting a degree for. I still have paperwork for those worthless vested shares lying around here somewhere lmao.
-
One of my best friends runs a state office for a corporate company and she is great.
But she is an absolute monster lol. It does legitimately take a sociopath to excel in that environment long term

oh cool.
yeah years and years ago (2006) i knew the guy that wrote pandora's mobile app.
this was when i lived in SF. i knew a LOT of other tech folks, but all in all most of them are not great people.
-
Nowadays it's nothing, because I haven't written a single line of code in three years. Back then, I was the guy doing mobile development for applications we were using internally.

@Hoss @Tony @matty @bot @coolboymew
whats your area of expertise?
-
I was never out in SF, which is honestly a good thing because instead of soft quitting my job and just shitposting all day until management gave up on the prodding and fired me I probably would've just went fucking postal one day.

@Tony @matty @bot @Hoss @coolboymew @ringo kek, ferocious

Nah bro, she's like straight up lawyer up when you start dating to protect her assets. She plays hard ball. lol
-
@Tony @matty @bot @Hoss @coolboymew @ringo tfw no sociopathic office lady gf
-
She's an absolute blast to travel with though. The type of woman who goes on a weekend trip to Vegas and chills at the bar alone because she's scarier than most men lol
-
@MischievousuTomatosu @Tony @matty @bot @Hoss @coolboymew @ringo i would think having one is more akin to living in hell
From what I read, these people never take off the corporate act and stay like that 24/7 to the point where if they are emotionally manipulate you or something they just say "oh, I did that? I think you rethink what you are saying and not accuse me" or some equalivant snake like behavior
-
>"Oh, I did that? I think you rethink what you are saying and not accuse me"
I don't know what happened, officer. I just blacked out and when I came to she was dead.
-
@Hoss @MischievousuTomatosu @Tony @matty @bot @coolboymew @ringo now I know why that line is used in spousal homicides cases where the husband is some corporate wagie like the wife but the wife embraced the corporate imperfect cell speech
-
>corporate imperfect cell speech
:marseychefkiss:

@luithe @Tony @matty @bot @Hoss @coolboymew @ringo yeah but if she's hot and loyal (crazy i know women aren't this anymore) i wouldn't mind being gaslight
