     Humans can be the "bad guys", but only if you're a good enough writer to make them compelling and based despite being the villains. Almost nobody who falls back on that trope is capable of such writing skills.

     @Hoss @MoeBritannica Some of the most compelling sci fi novels I read were alien vs alien wars, where humans aren't in the setting at all.
