     @doctorsex I wanna come up with a term for that kind of mboomeresque thinking. Something like “unicorn hunting” or “cryptid fixes”. Instead of admitting the problems exist, they just want to handwave it away and say “well, there’s GOTTA be a winning ticket out there, just find that!!!“

     @doctorsex I do. Every time I work w/ a well-intentioned boomer they pull that card out for everything under the sun. It’s always a “aw, don’t gimme that. There’s GOTTA be……” followed by some fringe case that only 3% of us can reliably get.

     Oh, son’s underemployed? Just go find a job w/ health insurance! They all have them! They don’t? Uh……just go work at costco then!

     @MeBigbrain @doctorsex You have NO idea how hard I have it sometimes. Old guys will talk all about how they barrel rolled skyhawks, had unauthorized dogfights with friends from other units with ‘borrowed’ USAF fighters, and brag about street racing their dad’s muscle cars all the time.

     Every story is capped off with “*ha ha ha, if you did that today you’d be in PRISON!!!!!! Ah, things were different back then.”

     When I say “you mean ‘better’?” they’re very dutiful about saying “well, there was plenty of bad…..” before conveying goyslop media lies about how ‘rough’ women and niggers had it
