@ArdainianRight bruh Carmack isn't a ideologue. He rarely talks about politics, and when it does it's just some small personal opinion thing. You cannot get further away from the definition of political grifter than Carmack.
@crunklord420 "Grifter" as a term has been abused to hell and back. If you aren't profiting in any way through your political takes you cannot be a grifter.
@icedquinn@PhenomX6@issdeinschnitzel@crunklord420 I don't think the people in this convention are declaring themselves as right wing, there's even an extremely popular Youtube genre of videos criticizing what leftist ideology is doing to entertainment without promoting a right wing counterrevolution. Most people just want things to go back to normal, but it's impossible to go back to normal without identifying that the left is a problem.
@issdeinschnitzel@icedquinn@PhenomX6@crunklord420 >There is a demographic that welcomes the in-your-face posturing, but it drives away sympathetic people that would otherwise be happy to talk about craft, stories, and technology.
I understand he is trying to calm down the trannies, but from what I can see on the website, this convention is not doing "in-your-face posturing", it exists because people felt the need to create a space for fans of sci-fi and fantasy that is not dominated by leftist politics, and they are announcing this in a very simple and honest way. I hope Carmack won't stop attending it, they won't stop harassing him now anyway.
@issdeinschnitzel@icedquinn@PhenomX6@crunklord420 Fucking hell that convention's expensive! Would go for Carmack if I had the time and money though. Hopefully Leafistan will get its own basedcon, am sick of seeing poz and Genshin faggotry creep into the local weeaboo convention
