     The same shit's been going down over on DeviantArt to some degree.
     
     I feel it's an extension of the can every single artist online kicks down the road (having to work at McDonald's), and artists online lately have been panicking over the proles pirating Patreon subscriptions (see the yiff.life drama), NFTs for some reason (when they do the same shit with adopts), and now this.
     
     But that was what happens when you hook up online artists to an IV of pure drama (Twitter).

     @Ronnie21093 @Dude It’s the same mentality held by people who think adding #nobot to a post or profile on fedi will actually prevent bots from scanning their content and adding it to the training material for AI. There is no UN Agreement or any such nonsense to prevent a bot from seeing your content. If you care that much, post followers only or use E2EE chat. This is the world we live in now, and the sooner people start embracing that fact instead of bitching and moaning, the sooner they can do something useful.

     Unfortunately internet artists haven't changed much mentally from the days of DeviantArt and "Donate to my Patreon so I don't need to work at McDonald's". It's just they go after AI model makers instead of slapping 600 "DO NOT STEAL COPYRIGHT COLDSTEEL420" stickers on their art.

     The other trend I've noticed from artists like this is that they tend to be eternally struggling. There are talented artists I have passed over just because they have the personality of a washed up Twitch streamer crying on stream because nobody is giving him money until he gets another paypig to donate and suddenly he acts happy.
     
     By this I mean crying about "WHY AM I NOT BEING NOTICED" and "WHY DOES NOBODY CARE ABOUT ME" before malding about AI art or burning bridges with people for being around people you don't like. I wish I was kidding but I knew one like this and I actually passed over him because he was turning into the person he mocked 5 years ago.

     My favorite trend is when artists are paid extra to keep art private and don't. It's funny bc a buddy got me gift art once but I saw it before he could give it to me since the artist posted it immediately after creation. He pulled up the chat and payment that said he paid an extra percent for it to be kept private, he was livid 😂

     There's like a ton of /trash/ threads on artists and shitting on them for this reason.
     
     My favorite artist thing is when they want to do anonymous commissions because they're desperate for the money but are worried about drawing something that they might just slightly dislike.
