   had a dream I was learning to fly a plane and @WashedOutGundamPilot was my copilot instructor, trying to explain all the avionics equipment and gauges while showing me pictures of anime tiddgy on his phone

     @synapsid Maybe you need some confidence? When I had buddies that didn’t feel like they could handle anything that came their way I’d give them an aviator jacket and sit them in the cockpit on the ground and force them to visualize themselves being an excellent, badass pilot. I’d have them describe every portion in detail, walk me through what they’re doing, run through an emergency, and take a few pictures of them looking cool in front of the bird.

     Confidence is kind of important in flying. It’s hard to explain, but you need it more than everyone says. They push the opposite because the boomers went overboard with their egos, killing many. But you have to have a kind of sureness of self in order to go up there and perform to your peak.

     Also when I’m flying alone, I often have either tiddy pinups on my screen saver or something fun to play in the background. I had nothing but K-on and bocchi for the last few, so I just kept playing those all the time to make sure I was staying awake instead of getting road hypnosis
