   One analyst on the line ran the pair’s names through “commercial databases,” quickly finding them and their home address listed in San Diego’s local phone directory. It turned out they had been living with an FBI informant.

   It’s a good thing we all gave up our privacy to help combat terrorism when the supposed hijackers were living with an FBI informant leading up to the attack 🙄

     @thatguyoverthere It feels like all these stories that has enforced or attempted to enforce the security state that's really intensifying lately, are all slowly crumbling one by one and they keep making really short minded fucks up that just keeps immediately blowing up in their faces

     @r000t @thatguyoverthere I dunno. I legitimately can't see them trying to 4D chess us as they can't even 4D chess anything anymore, it's all increasingly dumb and transparent
     
     If anything there's probably a shitload more disgruntled people around deep in the gov these days

     Which is making me ask... Why are we being "allowed" to know this all of a sudden?

     You can feel it, almost. Whenever they do that, something that when you think about it, is supposed to be this enormous bombshell. Something that if you even so much as mentioned it in the early 2000s you'd be cancelled like it was 2023.

     If they never told us, I don't think it'd have ever "gotten out", because something that big, it would have gotten out that same decade at least.

     It doesn't feel like a "pressure release" at an opportune time, it feels like a setup for a later punchline.
