     @WashedOutGundamPilot Markham's MiniFarming is a good book for this sort of thing. There are tons of other, similar books, but that one seems to have the best writing style (succinct, doesn't ramble) and is most relevant to modern suburbanites.
     
     But yeah, tons of this sort of knowledge gets lost to the ages and then we have to find our way back to it over time.
