   There are some considerations here that boys had better understand if they’re looking for a woman who’s more ardently religious than them, because I’ve observed a fairly consistent pattern time and again… they need to know what to look out for to mitigate a certain strain of marital friction before it starts. There’s no room for the lazy or unobservant anymore.

   I’ve dated a couple of their kind, and I hate it. I don’t like my lady putting her finger in my chest to order me around according to her interpretation of the faith - it’s not always in line with what’s truly correct. Overall, there are nice parts, I’m just a very poor match for that type. Even down to the gospel itself, women’s outlook, their desire to put the community above all else colors their faith. You won’t see the difference a lot of the time, in a good church.

   But as society drifts, and more churches hew to the side of worldliness, that same once-strident christian chick will turn whichever way the crowd does. I’ve seen plenty of “good”, churchy, commanding, type-A women in our circle do an about-face on all the big globohomo issues since I was a kid - and if you ask them why, they’ll tell you they’re just being good christians in doing so.

   Women tend to have a testimony based on the community, it’s inextricably intertwined with how the parish/congregation makes her feel, how she fits into the group, how it meshes with her family. There’s a tremendous chink in our collective armor there, and it’s being exploited by satan better than it ever has before.

     @Saber Your amazing, self-directed, hardline christian wife probably doesn’t realize she’s been setting her own spiritual compass to point to what’s popular in the parish/congregation and not what’s right in a vacuum.

     One day, as everyone drifts leftward you’ll find her screaming at you that you can’t refuse to let your teen son be gay - that’s not christian.

     THIS kind of content is tailor-made for good stay-at-home moms & wives hanging out at home. All these gay, fake videos are just some queer in a rainbow robe and an empty church selling this propagandistic lie that there’s just TONS of super gay-friendly churches out there whose beliefs don’t conflict with the pop-culture satanism everyone follows by default. This kind of spiritual poison WILL make its way into your wife’s eyeballs, and it’s not all that uncommon (in my experience, sadly) for them to be whisked away by the lie.

     Think about it: She doesn’t like fighting, she isn’t a combatant. If her beliefs in your church put her at odds with everyone in public, every media figure, everyone with a dang pulse that she imagines makes up 90% of the world around her, why WOULDN’T she happily gobble up an adulterated gospel that erases all those distinctions? She can have her cake and eat it too! How convenient it is that “being a good christian” means following a pop-culture christianity that even the most ardent reddit troon atheist would adore!

     Instead of continually black pilling people about women, how about red pilling them on how to be men? I really don't think you're helping anyone by constantly posting threads that cast women in a negative light. You're probably making things worse tbh.

     And all of this leaves aside the slightly icky aspect of wanting to ride on the wife’s coattails. I’ve heard it way too often, where guys have all kinds of issues in their own life, but say they’re going to aim high and get a girl who’s TWICE as religious as they are. They WANT a mommy to stick her finger in their chest, to wake them up at 0530, to FORCE them to do the right thing for their entire life. These guys would tell me that they would descend into utter depravity without a new replacement mommy telling him what to do every day.

     They’d try and couch it in these terms like it’s a good thing, like “I just want someone who won’t put up w/ my crap!“, but it’s still just a form of spiritual cowardice. It’s well-intentioned, yeah, but self-discipline is such a vital part of being a disciple you hobble yourself forever by cheating your way around it with a mommy/drill sergeant forcing you to go through the motions, willingly or not.

     It carries this scent like “I want to avoid the toil of developing discipline, I want to eliminate the burden of my own agency and be forced into being a righteous man“.

     It may be well intentioned, but our role as a husband isn’t to be dragged behind our wive’s spiritual cart as she plods her way up the mountain of life - it’s our lot to be leading the charge, pulling the cart ourselves as she motivates and uplifts us, supports and loves us every step of the way.

     It’s a tough thing to put into words, but it’s just like all thes other issues I have w/ relationships where guys avoid taking up headship of the family. They don’t WANT to be the captain, they just wanna be a co-first-officer w/ a woman who has her shit together better than they do.

     With the way the world is going, our families cannot survive with such a man at the helm.

     @Humpleupagus @Saber I do more positive women stuff that most anyone else around here. There’s just less to write about in a commendation than a warning. Problems are complex, they necessitate a lot more work to diagnose and describe than a simple “attaboy”

     @poastoak That’s the usual way we foment it. Before you know it you work your way into some breathing room, and maintain those same habit patterns.

     Discipline is the most important aspect we can ever foster, and it’s kind of crazy how undervalued it is. Everyone loves the vim and buzz of “motivation“ without realizing how shortlived and gutless it is at the core.

     @WashedOutGundamPilot The easiest way to do discipline is to wall yourself into it. I work 50 miles away from my house, paying the mortgage and feeding my kids is not optional, and I drag ass and am useless on the jobsite if I don't get 6+ hours of sleep and eat breakfast. From there it's just a time/speed/distance calculation and the whole day is lined out for me.

     Short circuiting habit formation is the cheat code for life. Do something every day for six or seven weeks and you'll be doing it the rest of your life. I used to line it out in a day planner, number them off, and check it off each day I did it.
     
     Don't overload though, 3-5 at a time is about as much as I could ever handle. Just plink away at it, you'll see enormous improvement in a year

     @poastoak Maybe it’s just too many bad experiences but it’s very brown, that weird youtube zone where it’s 1 hr long pump-up mixes with sports nigs talking about “GETTING IT DONE!!!” and “BEAS’ MOOOOOOODE” set to garbage music. Seems like all the black/brown “record label owners” and “entree-pen-oors” at the gym are all about that stuff.
