     @Elfie I’ve lived foreign for longer than most. I don’t know too much about china’s actual mores, but most places in the 2nd world are much less stringent about things than they are here.

     Unironically it is but what do you expect from a generation raised on WWE, shitty talk shows (Jerry Springer/Dr Phil/etc.), reality TV, and Howard Stern/Opie and Anthony/similar "edgy" radio shows? They want to see the craziest people possible ruin themselves/get ruined on TV and then die of a drug overdose when they burn the fuck out at a young age (which always fucking happens). Or they just troon out and wash their hands of it and do the same shit anyway but with the friends they cut off and all.

     IMO he was much funnier when he had funny people and a few talented people around him, helping write his bits, and whatnot. It became blatantly obvious after WP who was holding it together and that the reason people would watch MDE wasn't because of Sam.
