As one who was partly responsible or Java having been GPL'ed, I remain convinced that was the right license.

Simon is right about the TCK, that was a power play by people trying to protect mobile revenue, failing to notice that J2ME had no future (thank goodness).

As for the OraGoog litigation, the machinery of justice worked, eventually. Android did the right thing.
