   @Questioning @ianmnoone From my experience, "Queer" isn't used in the general population and the real problem is the fact that it is pronounced "cuir" ...
   So Queer is used because we do not have another alternative :/

   And just to hammer what's been said, "pédé" is largely an insult towards gays but is used playfully within the community.

     @IllBringYouFlow @ianmnoone @aurelien So some other people have mentioned that Queer is not as popular a concept in France and that this may be because of it's similar sound to "cuire" (cook). Is there maybe a more common umbrella term that you know?
