Gee I wonder why men like this.
10 years later discussion around this game is exactly backwards and still wrong
- cool_boy_mew, luithe and Woggy's Zeonic Frolicks like this.
- luithe repeated this.
-
@rhyse This is either a zoomer who wasn't even alive when this game came out, or a bold faced liar who wants to run some sort of psyop. Character designs like Juliet's used to get panned all the fucking time for being "male gaze"
-
@rhyse I wanted to play this so bad
-
@rhyse Yeah I mean who likes cheerleaders and boobs and short skirts? 🤷♂️
-
@rhyse what next, "Sucker Punch is a feminist film that sticks it to the patriarchy and kills nazis" ?
-
@BlinkRape @rhyse @Indigo reminder that moviebob wrote a massive article for the mary sue (IIRC), and for free, complaining when south park shat on PC culture with PC principal
It was one of the worst thing I've ever read. Quite literally, every other paragraph would pause the current critique and would go on about older seasons to obviously prove that he's a "Real Bonafide South Park fan"
-
@Indigo @rhyse It's MovieBob so that wouldn't surprise me
-
@BlinkRape @rhyse I've heard this argument before. I think I remember Moviebob saying almost exactly that in a video like 10 or so years ago.
-
@coolboymew it's getting a remaster
-
@coolboymew @BlinkRape @rhyse I remember that article, it was bad.
I actually used to follow Bob back in the day when I was younger and more cringe, and he had a very strange worldview.
He seemed to have a paradoxical hatred of so-called "geek culture" whilst embodying all the worst aspects of it, and seemed to have zero self-awareness.
His movie reviews themselves weren't even too bad if I remember correctly, if he just stuck to those and kept his mouth shut he may have been a semi-successful film critic, but instead he became a Lolcow.
-
@Indigo @BlinkRape @rhyse yeah, even without following him it's obvious he has 0 self-awareness. He is quite literally the fat neckbeard nerd that the whole current thing is extremely hostile to and he still doesn't get it
-
> He seemed to have a paradoxical hatred of so-called "geek culture" whilst embodying all the worst aspects of it
Many such cases!
-
@Indigo @rhyse @BlinkRape @coolboymew Yeah, his movie reviews were actually pretty good. Damn shame, really.
