@PonyPanda yeah I opened regs last night since there was a lot of discussion about me/poast on twitter last night. only had one issue and it was the same limp dicked faggot causing issues for other instances
@graf nice. I imagine that you'd get a much better breed of person.
"Oh! That mysterious digital Samaritan also runs an alternative to Twitter where I can drop the same Sam Hyde/MDE jokes and not get banned That sounds like my thing!? vs. "HNNNGGGGYYYYAAAHHHH I NEED DRAMANIGGER GOSSIP!"
@PhenomX6@graf it's not limited to KF. It's part of a greater... mindset? Epistemology? I don't know if a lot of the September cancer came from KF dot net. Though it did bring some of the worst people from there.
@PonyPanda@graf it's the same one also on places like IP2, the "armies" of shock jocks (see the people who currently fuck with Anthony Cumia or how every 90s prank call vhs tape has someone yelling Howard Stern), or Sam Hydes current fanbase, the dopamine deprived who want crazy drama or "content" at the expense of everything else.
Mostly because everyone trying to be a Dollar Tree version of a shock jock or WWE writer ruined the game IMO. Chris Chan had that problem too, every literal retard wanted to be the next wannabe WWE writer with his life. A previous generation would get doxed or move on from Chris and a new generation would take over in the game of kick the autist.
@PhenomX6@graf I have a theory that I can’t really confirm because this is a world that I’m not really a part of. I’d like your input.
There is no longer such thing as a “lolcow.” The whole “fool” and “peanut gallery” paradigm is over. And that’s because:
There hasn’t been a cow like Chris-chan in years
Lots of fakecow attention seekers have ruined the game
People who would be at risk of being lolcows have seen how it goes down and are better at hiding their eccentricities
People in general have gotten weirder and more “extremely online” and COVID didn’t help that
But the real nail in the coffin is
“Aylogs” are usually just as fucked up
People deemed “lolcows” can “aylog” back
So the term “lolcow” is essentially meaningless now. It implies that there is one person that is a source of laughter for everyone to “milk.” But that’s not how it works now. The old paradigm was “PvE” But because of the factors I outlined above, this game of online stalking and provoking people is now “PvP.” You might think you’re entering that scene from a place of cool detachment and neutrality and simply enjoying the spectacle. But that’s rarely the case. If you’re not beholden to whatever platform you’re on to comment on e-drama interplay, you will end up having your sympathy or prejudice because you guaranteed to be exposed to heavily biased coverage. I even heard that KiwiFarms mods were taking bribes and shit.
On a related note; >People who would be at risk of being lolcows have seen how it goes down and are better at hiding their eccentricities
Or they either don't give a shit to avoid provoking KF/mentioning them, or they will try to fight the trolls online. There's two extremes, troll everyone into the ground; and yelling at you for making fun of an autist online no matter how eccentric they are (to the point where you get ex trolls trying to turn into who they trolled to compensate).
Instead what happens is the people within those communities end up being the trolls, as seen with the furry fandom, SL, and whatnot.
So Shock Jocks like OnA and Howard Stern used to get a kick out of fucking with retards back in the day, prank calling people, etc. A entire generation of people listened to those "edgy" shows and decided to model their behavior after them. Howard cucked out/softened hard and OnA got banned from SXM and burnt out.
While WWE was something else that crowd used to watch and well they were very famous for "over the top" fake stuff that kept you hooked because of how crazy it was. I'm talking shit like the WWE Grocery Store brawl; now imagine entire wrestling shows of over the top obviously scripted stuff and people wanting to be the writers with Chris Chan and their whole fake characters. https://youtu.be/JBV9v6KFqhg
No really; much of Chris Chan trolls were like this. They'd have fake troll personas and whatnot and bait him along. In the end it was a mix of both.
There's a bit of Twitter that wants to "ironically" be cringe or the people they used to make fun of online just to get back at their past of being a meanie online/their former friends. That isn't a joke.
Also 100 gecs is a good example of what I'm talking about too. Look at something like Brokencyde or BOTDF or other "crunkcore" bands people would mock in the old days.
The only difference between 100 Gecs and the other groups is it's "ironic" oh and there's troons.
Also you know how you said that modern lolcow stuff is PVP instead of PVE? You're on the money there.
IP2 was a subreddit (now spinoff site) based on the life and times of Ice Poseidon, a runescape streamer turned IRL streamer. When Pokemon Go came out, a lot of Twitch streamers began to stream their IRL adventures and so IRL streaming was born.
Eventually Pokemon Go died off but the IRL part remained, and with TTS donations it was a trashfire. I'm talking imagine some dude walking around with a TTS donation speaker playing songs about killing black people or better; Arab Andy's infamous donation that got him arrested: https://youtu.be/1EoomAaiDnc
Anyhow the thing with IP2 is they encourage shit like this subtly, and especially by calling it "content". They don't care if their favorite guy dies of a drug overdose on stream they'll find another one to watch.
Nah the WWE writers want to make their own lolcows out of people who are normally boring. After Chris Chan happened there were both those and people playing the act of a retard online (Parkourdude91, etc.)
The Shock Jocks on the other hand were closer to the alogs yes, especially with Anthony Cumia and the tranny hooker situation or getting catfished by a old guy pretending to be a teenage girl. Talk radio has a very specific sense of humor; and they did in fact make fun of Chris Chan too. https://youtu.be/cL1xh489L1M
Like listen to any clip of these old radio shows and you can hear where podcasts got influenced by them.
@PhenomX6@graf ah. You're saying the "shock jocks" are the aylogs trying too hard to make a "show" out of someone and the "WWE writers" are fakecows trying too hard to become notably eccentric?
@PhenomX6@graf mm. I don't know much about Ice Poseidon. I know that they're very degenerate and would have been "lolcows." But from what you said, I gathered that they also "aylog" back. That's the final factor I listed.
My own personal experience with this is very limited. I'm somewhat into Flamenco for the simple reason that he was friends with a VTuber called AthenaBambina I liked and he plays video games I like such as Monster Hunter and Guilty Gear. He also just seemed like my kind of of weeb. I don't know anything about his past with Ethan Ralph and the Killstream and why they hate each other and I don't know why KiwiFarms and Kino Casino hate him. Everyone calls him a pedophile on the same grounds they call most of the people I see on the fedi a pedophile. For whatever reason... he's deemed a "lolcow" when there's really nothing exceptionally weird about him.
I hung out in his Discord for a bit expecting some friendly conversation on anime, Japanese vidya and redpilled stuff. But the whole time... people were just talking about "the commentary community" and other figures saying things about Flamenco and their follies. They would mock Flamenco's enemies. They'd sound alerts for incoming "threats." And the whole server would pause and discuss some guy called Augie livestreaming. I found out there was a guy called Kinochet who found himself in Flamenco's community and wanted to be Flamenco's "operative" and engage in gayops/stalking etc. on Flamenco's behalf. Even somebody like Flamenco can have "soldiers" to fight on his behalf in new "PvP" paradigm.
@PhenomX6@graf ohh. I wouldn't call them "WWE writers." I'd call them "salesmen" or something like that. They're trying really hard to "sell the drama." I really can't stand it. There is this obnoxious culture of bluster and editorialization among these people and sort of spills over into other domains. For example: there's a particular faggot on kf.cc called Failure_Personified that types wayyy too much.
No no no the WWE writers are a distinct breed. They loved fake hammed up entertainment, and this was seeping into their targets. It wasn't about hyping up boring people but rather luring them into pranks and creating fake groups of people around their target.
With Chris Chan they were constantly catfishing him day in day out, and Drachenlord had the same shit happen to him to some degree (catfishing for one). I'm talking like when people decide to go up to autists online and pretend to get them interested in some business idea and shit like that or LARPing as a girlfriend.
If anything Drachenlord is the "new chris chan" and I mean down to the fact that his trolls are even nastier than the worst of Chrises. They were showing up to his house to stalk him IRL and now there's a Telegram channel dedicated to spot him wherever he's at in public (since he's homeless after the town he was in bought the house to tear it down and he pissed it on a truck and hotels he lived in).
I think a better description would be more like The Truman Show, except if the main character wanted to remain in his fantasy after knowing how fake and gay his entire life was and continuously falling for shit, and if everyone around him was the most sadistic motherfucker trying to ruin his life daily. For context The Truman Show was a movie about a man who finds out his entire life from the cradle was for a TV show on a set and spawned many imitators and comparisons (along with giving people the idea of Main Character Syndrome).
Yeah definitely you nailed the problem with the "IBS" community and modern KF and the like. Everyone involved was a piece of shit for the most part and if they weren't their fans were. It shits up communities like troonism does left wing communities.
Like look at Flamenco. If he had any sense he'd bolt the fuck out of that scene and ban IBS discussion period. It's clear that there are retards who want to spread gossip about him but his fans also feel the need to go to war for some name on the internet they have no involvement with and have never met IRL.
@PhenomX6@graf I dunno. In the case of Flamenco, he's been doxed. People call me all manner of nasty things including a pedo which is par for the course on the internet. But I don't know how I would react if I knew that a bunch of faggots on the internet with a platform were going to extra effort to paint me as a pedophile with my online persona tied to my real identity. It's easy for us to say he should back off when we're not in his shoes.
And as I said... most of the people around Flamenco's scene were more interested in "the commentary community" than whatever game Flamenco is playing. I remember being in VC and some unfunny try-hard was screaming his head off because somebody had the username "Nibelsnarf." He was screaming shit like "WHAT THE FUCK IS A NIBELSNARF? WHO THE FUCK CALLS THEMSELF NIBELSNARF? WHAT DRUGS WERE YOU ON WHEN YOU CAME UP WITH THE NAME NIBELSNARF?" I had to tell him to shut the fuck up and that Nibelsnarf was a monster from Monster Hunter third gen.
So yeah... most of Flamenco's fans are in it for the drama and not the other vidya/anime. Sadly... hatred is a stronger emotion than love.
