     @Ariovistus That’s not how I read that little “assault.” What it looked like to me was them advertising how useful this could be if you wanna sneak up on “terrorists” when they think they’re safe. They could isolate themselves and have clear lines of sight on land, but they won’t be expecting the JMASOCAMPAT Anti-Terror squad flying in on jetpacks to arrest them for shitposting

     @john_rando @Ariovistus Because they don’t think about peer adversaries, this is probably sold as a way to get the jump on ‘terrorists’ and “extremists” to maintain the element of surprise when you positively, absolutely HAVE to arrest a kid for making memes online

     @WashedOutGundamPilot @Ariovistus Hmm, let’s see here. Hands aren’t free to hold a weapon to engage the enemy while flying. After landing you have dangling jet pods and a bulky backpack weighing you down. Don’t ask them to enter tight doorways and maneuver through narrow corridors.

     The landings looked nice and smooth for an unopposed approach. Now try it with enemies shooting back at you and you can’t shoot back. You have to come to a stop, then hover down to the deck while totally exposed to enemy fire and pray they don’t shoot you before you can free your hands to grab your rifle. Can you go prone then get back up easily? What happens if you get hit and fall into the sea? Can you free yourself from all that junk before you drown?

     Why not just use a helicopter? That’s what they were invented for right?
