     @aral I'm here, and I've committed to that move, but I do have the privilege to do that. A lot of people, for various reasons, don't have that and it's a lot harder to sell it to them by telling them that they're Nazis. I read quite a few accounts by black people who have found it harder going on the Fediverse than on Twitter. Other people will be cut off from vital services that for now are only on Twitter. If the services move, so will they. But the services won't follow them.

     @kevinteljeur Twitter is literally shutting off real-time notifications from public services as we speak for not paying for their API. Its algorithm in entirely under the control of a proto-fascist billionaire. It’s about the least safe place for anyone who isn’t a white nationalist to organise.

     Furthermore, if anyone has their livelihood tied exclusively to Twitter at this point, the sooner they realise they’re shackled to a sinking ship and start to do something about it, the better.
